Ascension
2024
Acrylic, fire marks on canvas
Available
This painting rises like a vision through fire and ash, where destruction becomes the ground for transcendence. The flame-burned marks scar the surface yet also mark the path upward, suggesting both the weight of what has been consumed and the release that follows. Layers of soft rose, teal, and pale greys carry the sense of something dissolving, while darker strikes ground the work in the truth of trial. In its ascent, the painting does not deny ruin but transforms it — showing that within the residue of fire lies the possibility of renewal, a movement from fracture toward elevation.
